When I first moved to Houston I was surprised to find a bridge as large as the Fred Hartman between Baytown and La Porte. This bridge is quite high and I think its second after the Rainbow Bridge in Bridge City, TX. Nonetheless, this is a great place for photos or just to drive over if you're in the area. My only complaint is that at night the only lighting is in a boring orange which almost makes this landmark disappear against a skyline of oil refineries. It would be nice to see the Hartman light up in a different color, just sayin'.
